Chico/Kashif & Shanghai Secondary Schools Football Tournament…
New Silver City Secondary School triumphed over Friendship Secondary School 5-0, while Mackenzie High School inflicted a 6-1 drubbing to Queenstown Secondary when the action in the Chico/Kashif & Shanghai Secondary Schools Football Tournament continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground, Linden, Sunday evening last.
New Silver City surged ahead compliments of goals off the boot of T. McAllister in the 16th and 33rd minutes and closed off the first session with another success from O. Webb in the 4th minute to notch up a 3-0 advantage. K. Louis and D. Sanchara then returned in the second half to push the game further away from Friendship Secondary with strikes in the 62nd and 71st minutes respectively.
Andel Mendonca struck twice in the 20th and 30th minutes for Mackenzie High School before Jason Williams narrowed the score in the 72nd minute. Kelon Primo then resumed control for the eventual winners when he netted a brace in the 72nd and 79th minutes before Alexander returned with his second success in the 90th minute.
The action resumes today at the Den Amstel Community Centre Ground when President College tackle Stewartville Secondary from 14:00hrs to be followed at 16:00hrs by Uitvlugt Secondary up against Annandale Secondary. Admission remains free of charge.
