The executive of the Soesdyke Falcon Football Club (SFFC) are now better equipped to undertake their mandate of development of their entity after officials of the Soesdyke Te Huis Te Coverden Neighbourhood Democratic Council (STTCNDC) donated several pieces of football gears to their organization to aid in their continued development.
Yesterday afternoon, President of the East Bank Football Association
(EBFA), Wayne Francois journeyed to the office of that NDC to receive and received the gift. He was accompanied by the Acting Secretary/Treasurer of the SFFC, Toralv Munru.
Chairman of the STTCNDC, Aaron Grant-Stuart, was joined by Overseer of his organization Fazila Manna and another employee, Sharada Manna, at a simple ceremony at their Coverden, Soesdyke office and handed over the gears which included boots, shin pads, footballs and uniforms. Mr. Grant-Stuart said that his entity was extremely delighted to have been of assistance to the footballers. He said that he felt duty bound since the SFFC formed a part of the community and were engaged in developmental works for the benefit of the community.
Mr. Francois also thanked the Chairman of the STTCNDC for his good gesture and assured him that the young footballers would be the beneficiaries. Mr. Francois explained that the community is undergoing a leadership crisis where the youths are reluctant to rise to the challenge. He then challenged them to step forward and contribute to the developmental process which would be beneficial to them all.
He also intimated that the EBFA is currently working in tandem with the STTCNDC to have a playfield for residents to engage in sporting and other extracurricular activities.
