From the start of the week, employees of Dr Ranjisinghi ‘Bobby’ Ramroop began combing through the Kaieteur News material in the Walter Rodney Archives, Homestretch Avenue. They photocopied piles and piles of printed material some dating back to 2008.
Some of the material included ‘Dem boys seh’, columns by Freddie Kissoon, letters critical of Bharrat Jagdeo and the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation; cartoons resembling both Jagdeo and Ramroop, and even photographs of Kaieteur News publisher, Glenn Lall attending his daughters’ graduation in the United States.
The purpose of the material is not clear but one of Ramroop’s close associates said that the search is for material that would form the base of another law suit.
