A post mortem on the Moblissa murder victims, Molly James, 34, and her son Aaron James, 15, whose bodies bore multiple stab wounds revealed that Molly James died as a result of perforation of the lungs caused by multiple stab wounds.
And Aaron James died from shock and haemorrhage due to multiple stab wounds.
Dr. Nehaul Singh performed the post mortem yesterday. It was witnessed by police and relatives of the deceased.
Orin Rodrigues, 20, who is said to be Molly James’s step brother, has been arrested for the killings.
On Saturday November 30, in the wee morning hours, Orin Rodrigues reportedly entered the camp of his stepsister Molly James and stabbed her to death. Her son, Aaron, was awakened by a noise and saw Rodrigues stabbing his mother.
The boy reportedly screamed out to his 13-year-old sister and tried to escape.
The murder reportedly stemmed from a report Molly James made at the Amelia’s Ward Police outpost on Thursday November 28 of Rodrigues raping her 13-year-old daughter.
On Friday November 29 police ranks at the outpost failed to locate the alleged rapist and he vented his anger on the family as they were asleep in their camp.
Police from the Mackenzie Police Station swooped down to the Moblissa backlands near the Demerara River and cordoned off the area preventing any escape after they were tipped off that Rodrigues was there. They captured him on Sunday.
The slightly built suspect took detectives to an area in his yard where he reportedly stashed the murder weapon and readily confessed to the murders.
