‘Make a Wish’ Programme for Youths unveiled by RHTY&SC
What is being described as another major programme, “Make A Wish”, was unveiled on Wednesday last by the various cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC).

This initiative according to the club would allow less fortunate youths and children to fulfill their dreams and wishes.
The “Make A Wish” Programme has been undertaken by the Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes Under-15, Bakewell Under-17 and Second Division, Pepsi Under-19, Metro Females and Gizmos & Gadgets First Division teams.
The first student benefitting under the programme was a New Amsterdam Secondary School (NASS) student whose wish of graduating with his classmates at the school’s Annual Graduation Ceremony was fulfilled.
The Administration of the school had requested the RHTY&SC’s assistance to enable the less fortunate student to graduate. West Indies female cricketer and club member Shemaine Campbelle willingly donated an undisclosed sum that was presented to the young student.
CEO and Club Secretary Hilbert Foster who handed over the assistance stated that under the Club’s “Make a Wish” project a total of twelve (12) youths (one per month) would be able to fulfill a wish with the assistance from the cricketers of Guyana’s leading youth and sports club.
Foster stated that due to poverty, too many youths are unable to fulfill their dreams in sports, culture or education and the RHTY&SC was committed to making positive differences. Each month, one less fortunate youth would be selected by the cricket teams to make their wish and dream come true.
NASS Sports Master, Mr. Shalom Vanderstoop who received the contribution on behalf of the student expressed gratitude to the Club and its cricketers, especially Ms. Shemaine Campbelle for the love extended to the youth through their assistance.
