Bandits shoot Chinese national after trailing him from bank

Bandits on a motorcycle shot a Chinese national and escaped with some $3M after trailing the victim from a city bank around 11:15 hrs yesterday.
Police said that the victim, Gao Yun Xu, was shot twice in the back outside the office of the Jailing Forestry Industry, Courida Park, East Coast Demerara, where he is employed.
Kaieteur News understands that the victim visited a city commercial bank earlier in the day and withdrew some $3M. Another Chinese national then drove with Yun Xu to the Jailing Forestry Industry, Courida Park.
A source said that the man had just dropped off Yun Xu when he heard two gunshots. He then saw his countryman lying on the ground and two men on a motorcycle racing away from the scene. The cash that the victim had uplifted was missing.
The wounded man was rushed to a private hospital where he underwent surgery.
No one has been arrested.
