The Continental Group of Companies has once again fulfilled its corporate responsibility of promoting youth development through sports.
Through its Sunburst brand, the company has partnered with the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) to sponsor the Linden Secondary Schools Under-17 Championship which the company says will help lay a solid foundation for the sport in the Bauxite Mining Community.

Braving the intermittent showers at the main basketball facility in Linden, Boyce who was accompanied by two Marketing Executives also noted that his company has always been involved in promoting sports in Linden saying their last sponsorship was with football and they are pleased to be proud sponsor of the Under 17 Schoolboys Championship.
The avid sports enthusiast recalled that the Continental Group has been serving the Linden/ Wismar Markets over a decade now and as a good corporate citizen, “we continue to be pleased to give back to the Community with our focus on the youths in healthy sporting activities.”
Regional Chairman Sharma Solomon praised the effort by the Continental Group of Companies as he remembered the involvement of them in football while also applauding the efforts of the LABA in promoting the game among schools.
Solomon called for more support by the business community for the promotion of sports and challenged Continental Group of Companies to pour more into such promotions by heightening their display of products to the community through this medium of sponsorship.
Malcolm James who represented the participating schools thanked Continental Group of Companies for their involvement in spreading the game among the youths and noted the effort being made by the LABA in ensuring that the game is played at the various levels in the schools.
