The children of Lourick Raguhbeer, 76, of Hill Foot, Versailles, Soesdyke/Linden Highway are currently searching for the elderly man who left his home more than three months ago but never returned.
According to information received, on the morning of September 24 last, at about 09:30 hours, the man informed his daughter, Dolly Raghubeer, that he was planning to pay a visit to relatives in Essequibo.
Dolly, who lives near to her father’s residence, explained that he had gone over to her house for a meal and had said that in case she noticed he was absent later in the day, know that he had gone on the trip.
The woman said that she did not think it strange, as her father was in the habit of regularly visiting relatives in Essequibo. What was unusual, however, was the fact that after two weeks, the elderly man did not return home.
Kaieteur News was told that the man had never spent in excess of four days on such visits.
As more time elapsed and the man had not been seen, his children opted to contact the relatives in Adventure, Essequibo, hoping to find out the reason for the lengthy visit. They found out, however, that he had not gone there, but visited relatives on the Essequibo Island of Wakenaam instead.
According to information received, the man spent three days in Wakenaam and the hosts of his visit there were of the opinion that he had returned home. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Raghubeer’s children informed that they made searches to various geriatric homes, hospitals, other places that he frequented, but to no avail. A missing report was also lodged at the Kuru Kururu Police Station.
The relatives are now requesting that anyone with information that would lead to identifying the whereabouts of Lourick Raguhbeer contact them on telephone numbers 688-5744, 695-4501, 678-6326, 677-5695 or the nearest Police Station.
