Guyanese martial arts practitioners out of the Guyana Harpy Eagles Martial Arts Academy turned in commendable performances when they participated in the World Championships tournament in
Trinidad and Tobago, November 8-9 last.
Dion Bobb copped first places in the open kata, sparring and weapons, while Sensei Troy Bobb emulated his achievement in similar categories, but in a higher division. Bobb also excelled in the open kata, weapons and stick fighting, clinching first place in both categories. Trevor Smith missed out on the top spots in the open kata and sparring, ending in the 2nd place in both events.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bobb said that he is pleased with the returns of the team. He said that they could not have achieved those accolades devoid of the input of the residents of Beterverwagting, those of Agriculture road, Block CC, Mon Repos and La Bonne Intention ECD.
