It is one of the more exciting formats of football and when the Georgetown segment of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets; Futsal Competition opens tonight at Demerara Park, Ruimveldt, fans affectionately attached to the sport will no doubt be eager to witness the eight matches scheduled for the evening, starting at 19:00 hrs.
In the opening fixture, defending champions Leopold Street commence the defence of their title with a clash against Costello Housing Scheme and that will be followed by North- Last Entrance versus Norton Street from 19:30 hrs.
Stevedore Housing Scheme then take on Berlin Massive in what should be an enthralling encounter at 20:00 hrs and this game precedes the clash between Festival City and North East La Penitence at 20:30 hrs.
A break is scheduled before South Ruimveldt and Bent Street square off at 21:00 hrs and that will be followed by the appearance of national champions Back Circle, who open up against North Sophia at 21:30 hrs with Hope Street of Tiger Bay taking on California Square in the penultimate game of the night.
East La Penitence and South Sophia then bring the curtains down in the final game of the evening at 22:30 hrs.
