Leitch, London hit 50’s, La Rose claims 6, Azeez took 5
Police grabbed first innings points from Transport Sports Club (TSC) in a drawn encounter when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Noble House Seafoods second division 2- day tournament continued last weekend at Gandhi Youth Organisation ground.
Police elected to bat after winning the toss and were bowled out for 134 in 38.3 overs. Kelvin Leitch stroked an even half century which contained five fours and two sixes, while Reginald Rodrigues scored 27 (3×4). Azeem Azeez captured 5-42 from 11 overs; Avinash Vickram took 2-15 and Shaun Massiah 2-53.
TSC were skittled for 103 in 26.1 overs in reply. Keon Morris top scored with 36 (6×4,1×6) as Darson LaRose bagged 6-26 from 8 overs.
Leading by 31 runs Police declared their second innings on 179-9 after facing 35.4 overs. Parnell London led with 51, while Troy Benn and K. Grumble made 32 each. Massiah picked up 3-46, Adrian Hinds 2-10, Morris 2-26 and Azeez 2-48.
Set 211 for victory, TSC were 49-3 in 13 overs at stumps on the second and final day yesterday. Chemroy Kendall was their leading batsman with 35 not out.
