Dear Editor,
In my view, there’s a lot to be done. Everyday there’s always a crime— some robbery, murder, violence, accidents etc reported in the news paper. I sit and wonder if these problems can ever be solved. Allow me to comment on this matter. Writing and publishing are forever in my thoughts.
I understand that Guyana is a nation in which we should live as one. We should obey our motto “one people, one nation, one destiny”. We need cooperation within our policing department. I simply outlined, for example: When a robbery occurs and reports are being to the police station, do we all know that slow action may be taken? Some of us may know why it happens to be that case. Unfortunately, it is sometimes stated in the newspapers.
When you walk into the stations, the police only listen to your reports and don’t have time with anything. They are busy with the thing you call BLACKBERRY MESSENGERS. The police would say that there is no transportation for them at the moment.
That is not what we as Guyanese will want for our country’s development. When the police have to carry out an investigation of a matter, they would start it but to complete it is not necessary. We need to need improved within the Police Department. There must be leadership, the police must strive for excellence.
