– Persaud scores hat-trick
Mae’s secondary began its Inter School football pilgrimage on a golden
note after brushing aside Georgetown American School 3-1 recently in a friendly match played at the G.A.S ground in Prashad Nagar. A hat-trick of goals from Darshan Persaud piloted Mae’s to an easy victory.
Persaud teamed up with fellow striker Khalil Ninvalle to sink the hopes of the large number of G.A.S. supporters on hand. A flat footed shot from Persaud earned Mae’s the lead in the 7th minute of the game, while the score was doubled complements of a flying header from the skillful striker.
Aurelius Barrus found the net for Georgetown American School early in the second half but Persaud returned to seal the issue minutes later. The two teams will again meet on Thursday for the return fixture. However, this time Mae’s will hold the home advantage.
