The Guyana Karate College during its end of year grading examinations that were held last Friday evening November 15, at its main dojo – Malteenoes Sports Club, Thomas Lands, saw history being made with nine year old Tyler Orderson becoming the youngest person to achieve the second degree black belt ranking from all of the countries across the world under the International Karate Daigaku World Karate Organization.
Tyler Orderson, who had the accolade two years ago of becoming the youngest person globally at seven years old to earn the shodan (1st degree black belt) ranking, led the way with a gritty performance standing out even though suffering from a bad case of influenza.
Accompanying him for testing and successfully achieving the Nidan ranking was his fellow Marian Academy student Alyssa Persaud, who turned in a scintillating performance to also become a second Dan black belt.
Mickelly Rahaman, Rebecca and Rachael Ramlall, Rajiv Lee, Khalid Adams, Zane Low and Arvin Seelall all undertook a grueling examination to earn their shodan (black belt) rankings.
Moving from 10th kyu to 9th kyu were Daniel Denny, Damale Denny, Clide Sampson, Akil Sampson, and Ezekiel Poulis.
Whilst moving from 10th kyu to 8th were Bibi Mohamed, Kyle Chung, Kellisha Jupiter, Dana Persaud, Lana Persaud, Mario Dos Santos, Chrisann Newton, Rayden Persaud, Danielle Khan, Lemuel Scott, Jonathan Robinson and Eaton Low.
Moving from 9th kyu to 7kyu were Aditya Seetaram, Jonathan Niranyan and Kenrick Narine.
Alexander Persaud moved from 8th kyu to 7B kyu
Moving from 8th kyu to 7th kyu were Aron Hendricks, Demetri Lowe, and Kiefer Barker, Destinny Cao, Bruce Yong, Rudy Austin, Seon Poulis, Thamika Wong.
Whilst Jun Mikami, William Escarraga, Alyssa Singh, Nizi Realine, Krystal Realine, Jonathan Ramlall, Vickram Thani all moved from 7kyu to 6th kyu.
Faraud Mohamed, from 7th kyu to 5 B kyu.
Jeremiah Poulis, 8th kyu to 6th kyu, Ethan Jones 6th kyu to 5B kyu.
Motilall Mattadin skipping from 7th kyu to 5kyu.
Anish Sharma, Joshua Zaman, Daniel Lowe, Dominick Johnson all moving from 6th kyu to 5th kyu.
Aiden Singh 7th kyu to 5th kyu, Ronaldo Persaud 6th kyu to 5thy kyu along with Michael Alphonso, Scott Habibullah. Promoted from 5th to 4th kyu were Jayden Hurry, Deron Austin, Daniel Hing, Basilia Bettencourt, Samuel Munroe, and Ian Bollers.
Stefon Smith, Brittney Bettencourt, Daequan Burnett, Rayad Boyce moved from 4th kyu to 3rd kyu Aron Connelly skipped from 3rd kyu to 1st kyu, whilst Nigel Roberts moved from 3kyu to 2nd kyu, and moving from 3rd kyu to 2nd kyu were Jayz Halley, Princess Charles, Reba Ramlall, Carmalita Byrne. Navinda Soodoo moved from 3rd kyu 1st kyu, while ascending from 2nd kyu to 1st kyu were Otho Harris, Rhea Connelly, Jonathan Connelly, and Ryan Sarjoo.
