– were returning from Middle Street shooting victim’s wake
A taxi driver and a teenage girl were killed at around 23:00 hrs last night in a horrific crash on Mandela Avenue, while returning from a wake for one of the victims of last week’s Middle Street massacre.
Hospital sources identified the victims as Tiana Holder, 19, of Bent Street, and Percival Chester, 29, of D’Urban Street. Chester was employed by Crown Cabs Taxi Service.
Details of the tragedy are sketchy, but Kaieteur News understands that Chester and Holder had attended the wake for Vanessa Vyphuis, the slain Crown Cabs dispatcher.
They were reportedly returning from the wake when they crashed in the vicinity of the gas station on Mandela Avenue. Their bodies were subsequently transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
