Police are trying to locate two brothers who allegedly stabbed a 24 year old man to death at Albouystown yesterday.
Dead is Lloyd Benjamin also known as “Lloyd Banks” of Lot 113 King Edward Street Albouystown.
The motive for the killing is unclear.
According to reports the incident happened sometime after 10:00hrs a short distance away from Benjamin’s home. This newspaper was told that Benjamin lived opposite his alleged killers and that the men were once friends. One relative of the dead man told Kaieteur News that the three men were friends.
“All of them were friends…I can’t say what caused the fall out” the relative said. Kaieteur News was told that Benjamin and the younger brother had an altercation and a scuffle ensued, during which the elder brother intervened.
This newspaper was told that Benjamin was stabbed to the region of his chest; he also had another wound to the head.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Benjamin’s mother, Lorriane, told Kaieteur News yesterday that she last saw her son on Sunday morning.
“He came by me and I made breakfast for he…I ain’t know that would have been the last time I would have seen him.”
According to the woman, she received a call from a female who told her that Benjamin was stabbed. Upon her arrival at the hospital her worst fears were confirmed.
Benjamin leaves to mourn his mother and six other siblings.
