Mark Gonsalves XI have taken first innings points from Anthony Adams XI when the Thakur Persaud
two-day cricket competition continued on Sunday last at the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) ground, South Essequibo.
Adams XI batted first and were bowled out for 62 in 21.4 overs with Adams scoring 29 and Joshua Paul 16; medium pacer Federico Abrams bagged 5-21 and Gonsalves 3-27. Gonsalves XI closed the first day on 101-4 after facing 27 overs.
Gonsalves made 40 while Adams has so far taken 3-38. The game continues tomorrow. The match is being sponsored by President of NOC Sports Club Thakur Persaud. In an invited comment Coach Forbes said the game is part of the NOC’ Sports Club development programme. He also thanked Dereck Gobin Agri Spares for their assistance.
