A teenaged traffic rank attached to the Parika Police Station succumbed last night, several hours after being involved in a road accident which occurred at around 14:00hrs yesterday.
Details are sketchy, but Kaieteur News learnt that the rank, 18-year-old Constable Shaquille Anderson was on a motorcycle with pillion rider Sadika Fraser, 22, when the accident occurred on the Zeelugt Public Road, West Coast of Demerara.
It is unclear as to what exactly caused the accident, but this newspaper was told that the Tuschen Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara resident was pronounced dead at around 21:30hrs, following a surgical procedure at a private city hospital.
When this newspaper visited the health facility, a large number of Anderson’s tearful relatives and friends had gathered reminiscing about the good times they had spent with him.
Meanwhile, up to press time, Sadika Fraser was said to have been in the operating theatre.
