Guyana placed third overall after copping 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 2 Bronze medals in the just
concluded North American Federation of Martial Arts (NAFMA) World Championships at the Regency Hotel, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Troy Bobb took Gold in the traditional and open forms in the over 40 division, Troy Bobb Jnr won the Musical form and Sparring in the 15-17 division, Deon Bobb took the first podium spot in Sparring and second in open form in the 13-15 category, Sensei Trevor placed second and third in sparring and open forms respectively in the 30-39 segment and Ronald Eudoxie of Port Kaituma, Region 1 took silver in Stick Fighting, open and Chinese forms in the 30-39 class. He was also given the instructor of the year award by NAFMA.
Guyana also qualified for the 2014 NAFMA international championships which will be held in Atlantic City, USA. Speaking with Kaieteur Sport on Tuesday, Eudoxie said that he has been invited by the Korean Tansudo Federation for training in the USA in 2014. He stated that he is pleased with their overall performance and is happy to be voted the instructor of the year. “I am very pleased because i had to compete with instructors from around the world”, added Eudoxie.
