Refusing to give details about Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee’s medical condition, Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy confirmed that his colleague was still hospitalized. He placed effort however into pointing out the “fact” that Rohee’s hospitalization is not as a result of him suffering a stroke.
Ramsammy made that disclosure whilst hosting the People’s Progressive Party’s (PPP) weekly press conference at Freedom House yesterday.
The account given by Ramsammy suggests that the Home Affairs Minister was recovering.
As he sat in the chair usually occupied by Rohee- the newly appointed General Secretary of the PPP- Ramsammy told the media that Rohee was still “under observation” at the Woodlands Hospital.
The Agriculture Minister said that according to what he knows, Rohee was supposed to be discharged sometime “later today” (yesterday).
Rohee was rushed to the hospital last Thursday. Government officials have been very tightlipped as to what caused him to be hospitalized.
However ,reports suggest that the Minister collapsed after experiencing “flu like” symptoms.
Efforts to confirm Rohee’s discharge from the private health facility proved futile.
