Police were last night hunting for a Cane Grove, Mahaica man who stabbed his brother-in-law to death at day after being released from prison.
The incident occurred at around 22:00 hours.
According to information, the suspect and his wife had an argument, during which he tried to kill her. The brother intervened and was killed.
Up to press time the name of the suspect and his victim were unknown. However, Kaieteur News was told that the alleged killer was remanded to prison last month for assaulting his wife, after accusing her of infidelity.
He was however released by a magistrate on Thursday.
