They are young, they are undeniably talented and clearly the two most exciting kids in local motor racing and come November 24 when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club host the final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) fans will have the opportunity to see them showcase their skills at the South Dakota Circuit.
Young Matthew Vieira and Nikhil Seereeram have been thrilling motor racing fans with their unbelievable talent and daredevilry that certainly contradicts their respective ages.
Though not part of the CMRC these two racing prodigies are set to take to the circuit in both the novices Superbike and go-kart categories and fans could expect some nerve tingling displays from them against their more seasoned counterparts which over the past year has become an exciting attraction on the day’s programme.
Matthew, who is the son of Group 4 speedster Mark Vieira, has quickly developed from the nursery stage at the GMR&SC go-kart track to the one at the South Dakota Circuit and his performances to date have been very impressive and clearly emphasise his growing prowess in the sport.
The same could be said about Seereeram, who many believe has already developed to the stage where he could challenge the ‘big’ boys and has already scored some morale boosting victories over them on a few occasions.
Seereeram has shown that he is not afraid to mix it up on the turns and in the gooseneck, regarded as one of the more difficult sections of the circuit and this to many is the hallmark of a future champion.
They are two exciting prospects for the future that should be able to represent this country with distinction whenever the likes of Stephen Vieira, Joel Neblett and the others decide to call it a day.
The two racers are also very adept in the shifter karts and have already thrown down some thrilling displays against the likes of Stanley Ming Snr, Marcus Fiedtkou, Jerry Max Gouveia, just to name a few.
They are the future faces of the sport and motor racing fans are being urged to come out and see the new breed of motor racing exhibit their skills later this month.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism which has been on board for the past three years will once again partner the GMR&SC in an event that has evolved into a major sport tourism attraction.
GT&T, Seaboard Marine, Valvoline, Banks Beer and King’s Jewellery World are the major sponsors for this event.
