Government Pathologist, Dr Nehaul Singh and Police Firearm Expert Sergeant, Eon Jackson yesterday took the stand to give evidence in the matter whereby Cyon Collier called Picture boy is accused of a double murder.
The accused is charged for the murder of brothers, Ray Walcott called ‘Sugar’ and Carl Andrews called ‘Alo’ on September 23, 2006, at Victoria, East Coast Demerara.
Senior State Prosecutor Judith Gildharie-Mursalin is presenting the prosecution’s case, while Collier is being represented by Attorney at law Lyndon Amsterdam.
The matter is currently before Justice Navindra Singh at the Supreme Court.
In giving his portion of evidence yesterday, Dr Singh, noted that Walcott’s body bore multiple gunshot wounds, which could have resulted in his immediate death. However, while Andrews was shot at least three times, he died as a result of perforation of the lungs as a direct result of a single gunshot wound.
The Defence Attorney suggested that multiple gunshot wounds could not be the cause of Walcott’s death. He later argued that several aspects listed in the post mortem examination were inaccurate.
The Lawyer initially objected to Sergeant Jackson giving his portion of evidence, but the judge overruled and deemed Jackson an expert in the field.
Jackson subsequently testified that the spent shells recovered from the crime scene belonged to the assault rifle used in the execution of the brothers.
He revealed that the weapon bore serial number of AK47 11081, which was identified as one of the weapons that went missing from the Guyana Defence Force in 2006.
