A 21-year–old miner yesterday appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he faced two charges: making loud and continuous noise as well as disorderly behaviour.
It is alleged that on November 4, at Station Street, Kitty, Yogesh Singh behaved disorderly in a public place.
It was further alleged that on the said date, at the aforementioned place, Singh, being in possession of motor vehicle PHH2848, operated a stereo set which caused loud and continuous noise which resulted in the annoyance of Darren Paul Etwaroo.
To both allegations, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
Police Prosecutor Sergeant Vishnu Hunt told the court that when the police confronted Singh with the allegations stated in the first charge, the defendant proceeded to use a series of profanities.
The court heard that the man was told of his offences, arrested and charged. Hunt stated that the stereo set was also lodged at the police station.
Magistrate Latchman placed Singh on $30,000 and $20,000 bail for the charges of disorderly behaviour and loud and continuous noise respectively.
