Bartica Secondary defeated Mae’s A 3-2 to take the U-15 title when the Digicel/School’s National Table Tennis Championships continued yesterday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Bishop’s overcame Mae’s A 3-2 in the Novice final, while Mae’s A claimed the U-13 crown by beating Marian Academy A 3-0. The U-18 crown went to St. Stanislaus.
Business Schools took third place by trouncing West Demerara 3-1 in the U-15 division. Bartica Secondary earned their final berth by beating West Demerara 3-2 in the semis, while Mae’s A overcame Business School 3-0 in the other semifinal.
St. Roses A beat St. Roses B 3-0 in the third place playoff in the Novice category; Mae’s A hammered St. Roses B 3-0 and Bishop’s High got the better of St. Roses A 3-0 in their respective semifinal games.
Marina Academy A trounced Queens College 3-1 to win the third place play off in the U-13 event. Marian Academy A beat Marian Academy B 3-0 and Mae’s A defeated Queens College 3-0 in the semifinals.
St. Stanislaus captured the U-18 title with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Queens College A in the final, while Mae’s A got a walk over from Bishop’s A in the third place game. St. Stanislaus beat Bishops A 3-0 and Queens College A overcame Mae’s A 3-0 in the semifinal matches.
The competition continues today with the individual segment.
