There is an old saying that old policeman never lef de wuk. Some dem retire but dem does lef dem house every day and go to de station. Some of dem does try fuh give instruction to de young police.
Dem nevah realize that dem days done. Jagdeo in de same boat. He does walk round and threaten people like if he is still de President. In fact, he tell some people that he does still call de shots.
When he launch de Hard Times paper he was president and owner. De paper was full of ads. Nobody buying de paper and dem who get it fuh free not even reading it. De reporters don’t even read wha colleagues writing. Dem boys see that when he was president he call around and demand ads from business firms and people. He even direct all dem state agencies to buy de paper using state funds.
Now he out of office de ads dry up and Jagged calling round fuh bully people. Dem same people refusing to answer dem phone and de secretary telling Jagged that de boss out of office. When he ask dem fuh a cell number de secretary telling him that de boss lef de cell phone in office.
Three of dem people who get through to talk to tell dem boys de story. One of dem actually tell he that he not in office no more.
One man cuss he and tell he to eff off, that he can’t do nutten fuh nobody. De man tell he that he days done, like Hammy de Green.
Dem boys see that he phone did get cut off. He call and he cuss but de phone company tell he that he ain’t president no more and he must know he place.
He cry when de phone company remind he that he is a private citizen, just like wha he did tell Janet.
Robeson is another one. He test de slush in Mabaruma and get one lick down. Sunny Walker had to pick he up. Robeson limp and announce that when he fall de powers was sending a message that he must keep far from slush.
