Police have released the driver of a speeding minibus on station bail, who apparently struck down three-year-old Nikisha Shalom, a Danielstown toddler.
The toddler remains a patient in the Intensive Care Unit at the Georgetown Public Hospital almost five days after she was involved in the accident on the Lima Public Road.
The toddler sustained injuries to her head. The child’s condition, however, has been listed as stable. He relatives said that she is gradually responding to treatment.
On Tuesday last, around 17:30 hours, the child, who was in the company of an older brother was standing on the eastern half of the Danielstown Public Road. Upon noticing her uncle she made a sudden dash across the Lima Public Road and was struck down by the speeding minibus.
And Nursery School teacher, Maxine Cort, was readmitted in the Georgetown Public Hospital. Cort was involved in an accident at Onderneeming, several weeks ago. Driver, Felix Layne, was a fatality.
