Cyclists are gearing up for one of the most lucrative cycle races, the 16th annual Troy Humphrey Memorial Cycle Meet which will be hosted at the Seawall Bandstand tomorrow, eight races are carded for the day’s activity.
According to a release from the host Club, Roraima Bikers Club (RBC) of which the young Troy Humphrey was a member, all categories of riders are catered for and they are looking forward to an entertaining day of cycling.
Humphrey was one of Guyana’s leading cyclists when his life ended as a result of an accident, sixteen years ago. Ever since the young Humphrey’s death, the family and in particular, his father, George Humphrey, has been hosting a race meet aimed at keep Troy’s memory alive.
So tomorrow will be just another chapter in the ongoing book of the Troy Humphrey Memorial Race Meet.
Following are the events carded for the day, lucrative cash prizes are at stake:
BMX Open (3 Laps); Mountain Bikes (5 Laps); Veterans Under-50 (6 Laps); Veterans Over-50 (6 Laps); Team Time Trials (4 Laps); Females (5 laps); Junior/Juvenile (20 Laps) and the feature event Category 1-4 (30 Laps).
Race time is 10:00hrs.
