The United Bike Shop sponsored 55-Mile Cycle Road Race is set for Monday next from Homestretch Avenue to Dora on the Linden Soesdyke Highway before ending at Craig Village on the East Bank Demerara for the finish.
The race which will pedal off at 07:30hrs is being organised through the Carlton Wheelers Cycle Club and coordinated by National Coach, Hassan Mohamed.
Seniors, juniors, veterans, mountain bikes and females will all start at Homestretch Avenue, the veterans, mountain bikes and females will turn back at Splashmin’s Resort on the Linden Soesdyke Highway before returning to Grove for the finish, the seniors and juniors will proceed to Dora before returning.
Prizes will be awarded to the first six competitors in the senior’s category; the first three juniors, veterans and mountain bikers will also be rewarded as will the first two females. Eight prime (sprint) prizes will also be up for the taking during the course of the race.
