A Bartica businessman who was stabbed multiple times about his body and robbed of $300,000 last Saturday night is now hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
According to reports received, 54-year-old Gary Williams had just arrived home from his business place when he was attacked by a cutlass-wielding bandit who robbed him of the bag containing the money.
The businessman believes that his attacker was hiding in his yard, waiting for him
Recounting the ordeal to Kaieteur News yesterday, Williams said that he had just gotten out of a taxi and entered his yard when he was confronted by his attacker. “When I reach in the yard, I went to pee in a corner and this man just appeared from nowhere and started to jook me.”
Williams said that since it was dark, he did not get to see his attacker’s face. “Everything happened so fast but like this man come to kill me. He start jooking me and didn’t stopping.”
Kaieteur News understands that during the assault, Williams’ attacker whispered the name of the person who hired him to “finish off” the businessman.
