Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice, is the place to be when the organisers of that entity stage their Rodeo event, Sunday October 26 next.
Several of the nation’s top vaqueros from Lethem, the Rupununi Savannahs, West Coast Berbice, the Corentyne and Berbice River areas will join their counterparts from Brazil, Suriname and Venezuela to thrill turfites expected to throng the venue.
Several exciting events are billed for the day including steer roping, bare back bronco, male and female barrel race, wild cow milking, calf roping, wild bull riding, saddle bronco, the rodeo king competition and the popular Tug-O-War.
Several novelty activities are also carded for the day’s programme including the Beer drinking competition among others.
A number of corporate entities have teamed up to make the event a success including Banks DIH Ltd, A H and L Kissoon Ltd, Muneshwar Guyana Ltd, Hablaw Meat Centre, Chester Fry of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice and Rising Sun Cattle Ranch among others.
The organisers have put all the modalities in place for an exciting event as they anticipate a large crowd. The activity area has been spruced up while the Grand Stand and pavilion are receiving similar attention in preparation for the big day.
Organiser, Inshanally Habibulla was very guarded when discussing the events but hinted that there are a number of new events and features this year. He said that he is pleased with the general preparations so far.
Outstanding performers will receive lucrative prizes including cash incentives and trophies. Activities get underway at 11:00hrs.
