Safeway Security Golf tournament fixed for Sunday

Lusignan Golf Club will this weekend, ahead of the year’s signature golf tournament ‘The Digicel sponsored Guyana Open Golf tournament’, will be hosting the Safeway Security Company’s 4th Annual Golf tournament.

The tournament, which was rescheduled because of the inclement weather, will be hosted on Sunday from 09:00 hrs.

Safeway Security company representative Mr. Eon Caesar, at a simple presentation ceremony at their Regent Street location, informed the media that his company is delighted to sponsor another tournament and is aiding in the development of a major growing sport in Guyana.

He noted that the format in the previous years has changed to accommodate the players preparing for the upcoming Digicel Guyana Open Golf tournament and hopes that his company’s tournament places the local players in top shape.

Receiving on behalf of the Lusignan Golf Club, Mr. David Mohammad, Vice President indicated that the members were happy to have to this tournament this weekend since it was on the calendar for some time and feel right in fitting it in just before the Digicel Guyana Open Golf tournament.

“We have had a great relationship with Safeway Security and will be looking forward to a fantastic tournament as some 50 golfers are ready to tee off,” Mohammad stated.

In attendance will be a number of overseas players who will be taking a feel of the course before next week’s tournament as they look forward for excellent weather in both tournaments.

The prizes up for grabs will see interesting packages for golf players participating. The winners will receive a trophy, golf tees, golf buddy, utility brush, 4 in 1 golf tool, 1 box srixon golf balls and a six pack golf cooler bag.

Second place will see a trophy, golf tees, golf buddy, utility brush, 4 in 1 golf tool, 2 sleeves Srixon Golf balls and a six pack golf cooler bag.

Third place, trophy, utility brush, 1sleeve Srixon golf balls and a 6 pack golf cooler bag, while fourth place will see a similar trophy, utility brush, 1 sleeve of Srixon golf balls and a 4 in 1 golf tool.

Nearest to the pin, nearest to the pole and best gross will see similar prizes also as tee off time is set for 09;00 hours and will follow with a family fun day simontainously where attractive prizes would be up for grabs.
