Dear Editor,
I am a Berbician and a teacher. I started attending the Berbice Campus of the University of Guyana in September, 2011 to study for a degree in Social Studies, a four year programme.
After two years of study, now in September 2013, I am told that there are no classes at UGBC anymore for me to continue my studies for the next two years and I can continue by attending classes at the University of Guyana, Turkeyen, Georgetown.
Editor, for many reasons I am unable to do this. I was told that I may be able to continue my studies at UGBC in September 2014.
So Sir, I am left feeling very disappointed at this situation as I will be sitting for a year waiting and hoping that classes for me will be there in 2014.
Berbicians were very glad when the doors of UGBC were opened to facilitate Berbicians but many have now come to realize that UGBC is like a sinking ship, especially with the departure of the former Director Professor Daizal Samad.
