Dear Editor,
If my memory serves me right, I can recall seeing a few letters from Mr. Roy Paul, either in the Kaieteur News or Stabroek News or both.
His letters are adorned with advice for the Roses, etc on how they should channel their energies. Incidentally, however, Mr. Paul is suggesting that these guys go on bended knee to the Government and beg to offer their assistance. If, as he claims, he knows so much about what is going on in Guyana, then he fully understands that the Government is doing things their way. No constructive criticism is accepted and suggestions or offers from certain quarters are NO! NO!
Mr. Paul is trying to tell us who are suffering here that we must support the Government and stop criticizing. Who listens to us? Can you of good conscience say that your Government has the decency to be minimally broad minded and be inclusive?
Come on Mr. Paul, you are sounding like a certain guy from the Private Sector Commission who was advocating for us to accept the results of the General elections long before we the voters knew who would be proclaimed the winner. He let the cat out of the bag.
Mr. Paul’s attempt at the verbal bashing is not working. Stop pontificating like you know how to fix Guyana by asking us to support a Government that does not support us. Call a spade, a spade!
Stop being the proverbial ostrich. We have to accept where we are, where we want to go and how we will get there. I urge readers to go to the archives and check the trend of Mr. Paul’s letters – all for the Government and all against a developed and decent GUYANA.
Concerned reader
