Dear Editor,
You and I have come a long way and you know that that I have genuinely tried since the 90’s to try to improve the morality and good governance in our country, in which I have held no brief for anyone of any group.
I am now very frustrated that the people and the newspaper who know me best simply neglect to publish my letters, the latest in which I tried to bring some sanity and impartiality into people’s submissions in your letters columns.
Instead I am further peeved to see the same negativity being peddled day after day.
This is simply not producing anything positive to our Guyanese situation. To add insult to injury, today I see Freddie, who gets to spout his stuff daily gets space to write about the pizza he bought, while my letter may be languishing in some dustbin.
I know that you have Guyana at heart like myself, but the line that the paper has pushed is not doing anything to contribute to our country’s progress.
I have hesitated to resort to any other newspapers, but my concern for my country’s welfare is forcing me to go elsewhere and make my contribution. I yet expect a favourable response from you.
Roy Paul
Editor’s note: This is the first letter that I have actually received from, Mr Roy Paul.
