Score’s Even of the Dennis De Roop’s Simple Royal Stable of Corentyne continued its rampage, staking claim to the top racehorse billing in the country with an impressive gate to pole whipping of its opponents to win the feature A class one mile event and romp home with the hefty $1.5M and the President Cup compliments of
Banks DIH, when the Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with the PPPC held its President Cup one day horserace meet at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice on Sunday.
The Kentucky bred animal from the United States, once again ridden by Jockey Randolph Richmond, was definitely out to show its class. Known for its ability to run from behind, the connections of the DeRoop Stable decided to use a different strategy this time in its quest to dominate. The horse was out of the gate in a flash and immediately took the lead, which it never relinquished, turning in a blistering gallop immediately, splitting the field.
The question after, was how big a margin of victory the horse would achieve as it pulled away with every stride. Score’s Even eventually cruised past the finish line to win by about five lengths. It was the sixth win for the well groomed and fit racehorse in another dominant display. The Jumbo Jet pair of Grande Roja and Got
to Go and CP Got Even of the Elcock stable rounded out the money.
It took a Special run by She So Special of The Jumbo Jet Stable with Ajai in control to eke out a close victory in the race for three-year-old’s over 1500M event for West Indies bred maiden animals and Guyana Bred three year old horses. It was a ding dong battle from start to finish with Silent Night, Cat Messiah and Monsoon coming in close in one of the better races of the day.
Swing Easy of the Shariff Stable with Jamaican Jockey Brian Blake in the stirrups was also in devastating form, whipping the field to take the E and lower 1100M event. The win was worth $600,000 from Blame the Jockey, Silent Lizzy and Red and Lovely.
Today is My Day of the Jumbo Jet stable ridden by Colin Ross took full advantage of the absence of top horse Unsettled, which unfortunately bolted before the race to win the $400,000 top money from Shooting Star, Untouchable Girl and No Body Wants me in the contentious Two year old 1100M event for West Indies bred horses.
While the two year old 1100M event for Guyana Bred Horses and the $300,000
first prize was won by Baby Kerry of the B Singh stable.
Treacle of the Dookie stable with Rad Drepaul on it back won a close race from Captain Crook, Ferry landing and Quiet Storm in the F class 1400M event to take the $400,000 top money.
It was another win for the Jumbo Jet Stable as Rosetta with Ross scored an upset win for its first victory after picking up nine second places as it romped away with the G3 and lower 1100 sprint to take the $300,000 winners money ahead of Quiet Storm, Flying baby and Feels like Gold.
Easy to win of the Dookie stable with Drepaul carted off the $200,000 top prize in the ‘I’ class 1400M event from I Want Revenge, Mary Ann and De Gump.
Dream Boy with Richmond on board of the C. Singh stable won the J class 1100M event and $140,000 ahead of Prince Bayaya, Sun Set and Speed Vision.
The champion jockey on show was Colin Ross with the Jumbo Jet stable topping that list. Deonarine ‘Black Boy’ Ramroop of the Jumbo Jet stable was adjudged the champion trainer. The top performers were presented with the accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
Pic – Jockey Richmond all alone aboard Score’s Even as it destroyed the field in the Feature A class event as the crowd encroaches the track.
