The Universal DVD First Division T20 cricket competition in Berbice continued over the last weekend with some outstanding individual performances.
Berbice opening batsman Anthony D’Andrade hit 59* which included 5 fours and 3 sixes and together with 44 from Joemal La Fleur helped Bermine post 122 for 2 in 15 overs against Skeldon Community Centre. The two then featured in an opening stand of 102 in 12.2 overs. Skeldon could only respond with 94 for 8.
Kevin Ramdeen scored 55 (4×4 4×6) to steer Young Warriors Universal DVD to 134 for 4 in 15 overs against Edinburgh, Linden Austin chipped in with 38. Ramdeen came back with his off-spinners and took 2 for 6 from 3 overs to restrict Edinburgh to 61 in 14.3 overs.
Karamdat Bissoondial hit 54 (3×3 3×6) in Blairmont Community Centre’s 85 for 7 made in their 10 overs against D’Edward who struggled to 28 for 9 in response in the face of tight bowling led by Under-19 left arm spinner Kevon Jawahir (2-4 from 2 overs).
Raun Johnson grabbed 4 for 14 from 4 overs and Brendon Bess 3 for 15 from 4 overs to help West Berbice restrict Young Warriors Universal DVD to 116 for 8 in 20 overs. The consistent Keith Fraser hit 41 (1×4 5×6), Krishnadat Ramoo 37* and Raffle Estriado 28 to steer West Berbice to a 6 wicket win.
Bush Lot Rising Star pacer Dellon Joseph picked up 4 for 17 to help restrict Upper Corentyne to 118 for 9 in 20 overs. His efforts however went in vain as Bush Lot could only respond with 100 for 9 in 20 overs; Upper Corentyne off spinner Jameel Azad with 3 for 7 and Lakeram Latchman 2 for 15 did the damage.

Cumberland was rained out without a ball bowled.

At Skeldon – Bermine beat Skeldon Community Centre by 28 runs. In a match reduced to 15 overs a-side due to the late preparation of the pitch, Bermine made 122 for 2; Anthony D’Andrade 59*, Joemal La Fleur 44.
Skeldon Community Centre 94 for 8 in 15 overs; Gajendra Nauth 26, off spinner Kevin Pellew 2-8 from 2 overs and Nial smith 2-10 from 3 overs.
At Cumberland – Young Warriors Universal DVD got past Edinburgh by 73 runs. Young Warriors Universal DVD sent in to bat in a match reduced to 15 overs because of a late start due to a time mix-up, made 134 for 4 in 15 overs; Kevin Ramdeen 55, Linden Austin 38.
Edinburgh were limited to 61 in 14.3 overs; former Guyana all rounder Hubern Evans 3 for 17 from 3 overs, Kevin Ramdeen 2 for 6, Karamchand Ramnarine 2 for 10 from 3 overs.
At Blairmont – Blairmont Community Centre thumped D’Edward by 56 runs. Blairmont Community Centre 85 for 7 in 10 overs; Karamdat Bissoondial 54, medium pacer Marcus France 3 for 19 from 2 overs. D’Edward 28 for 9 in 10 overs; Kevon Jawahir 3 for 4, Waqar Hassan 2 for 10.
At Cumberland – West Berbice got past Young Warriors Universal DVD by 6 wickets. Young Warriors Universal DVD choosing to bat first made 116 for 8 in 20 overs; all-rounder Suresh Dhanai 44, Khemraj Sumair 22, Raun Johnson 4 for 14 from 4 overs, Brendon Bess 3 for 15 from 4 overs.
West Berbice 117 for 4 in 17.2 overs; Keith Fraser 41, Krishnadat Ramoo 37*, Raffiel

At No. 69 – Upper Corentyne beat Bush Lot Rising Star by 18 runs. Upper Corentyne choosing to
bat first made 118 for 9 in 20 overs; Chris Bollers 31, Fiaz Mohamed 22, Monesh Lalu 20, Dellon Joseph 4 for 17, off-spinner Cohen Ismond 2 for 18 from 2 overs.
Bush Lot Rising Star 100 for 9 in 20 overs; Asif Khan 22, Keyron Fraser 21, Jameel Azad 3 for 7, Lakeram Latchman 2 for 15.
