Demonstrating grit and determination, national race walker, Debidyal Harold walked briskly and strategically to claim the top spot when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club staged the Golden Grove Village Walk from the President’s College to the Golden Grove Market, in a race sponsored by Humphrey’s Bakery and Farm products, Sunday September 29 last.
George Adams finished closely on Debidyal’s heels, while Odessa Moffatt sealed off the podium spots.
The race also attracted participation of USA based walker, Andrew Wilson, who could only manage a 5th place spot after Sharon Moffatt squeezed into the 4th place position.
The walkers would resume the fierce rivalry on Sunday morning when they start off at the President’s College, proceed to the head of the Golden Grove community and back to the place of origin.
Once more, the organizers have been able to obtain beautiful trophies and medals for the winners from several corporate institutions. Race time tomorrow morning is 06:00hrs.
