Dear Editor,
I find Mr. Persaud’s comments amusing. If the Tax Act gives the GRA the authority to issue professions the wherewithal to practice in Guyana, then GRA does have that authority!
Moreover, Mr. Persaud, a CPA (USA certification) should be aware that although the AICPA may certify you, yet, each state has the prerogative to license you to practice within its boundaries.
Why does he accept that position (I assume he does for he holds a CPA certification), and yet refuses to acknowledge that Guyana as a sovereign state ought to have the prerogative to deteremine who practices his or her profession within the confines of Guyana?
Mr. Persaud needs to rid himself of such duplicity.
