Boxing buffs that have missed the monthly Guyana Fight Night affair would be delighted to hear of the resumption of action when the Guyana Boxing Board of Control presents the 30th edition of the cards at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH), Sunday October 30 next.
Clive Atwell is the hottest boxer currently on the local scene and he will want to endorse that view when he tangles with Jamaican pugilist, Glenroy Augustus Beckford in an eight rounds lightweight affair, while Berbician, Richard Williamson will engage Dexter ‘The Kid’ Marques in the toughest fight of his fledgling career. That bout will be another eight round contest but in the bantamweight division.
Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) middleweight champion, Edmond DeClou will square off with Derick Richmond in an 8 rounds middleweight contest just after welterweight pugilists, Kishawn Simon and David Thomas goes after each other in a 4 rounds welterweight scrap.
The boxers have already commenced training sessions and now that the date has been affirmed they will intensify activities. Those pugilists are also scheduled to convene at the Avenue of the office of Abdool and Abdools Insurance Brokers at 14:00hrs today for the official signing ceremony before gym sessions at their respective gyms.
