Attorney General, Anil Nandlall, says that he is exempt from the requirement of having a Professional Practice Certificate to ply his trade as a lawyer.
Nandlall says that this exemption is by virtue of the provisions of the Tax Act which precludes persons employed in the service of the State, from the requirement of a Practice Certificate.
“The holder of the office of Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs falls into that category of persons so exempted.”
This publication on Sunday last had named Nandlall as one of the practicing Attorneys doing so without a Practice Certificate.
