A four wicket haul by man-of-the-match Hemraj Garbarran propelled Everest Masters to a 7-run win over
Guyana Stock Feeds XI in a feature 20-over softball match sponsored by Trophy Stall of South Road last Friday evening at the Everest Cricket Club.
Everest batted first and scored 193-9 off their allotted 20 overs. Shaheed Mohamed top scored with 45 (5×6), while Rupie Shewjattan supported with 39 (2×4, 3×6). Avinash Sookdeo claimed 2 wickets for Stock Feeds XI, who in reply were bowled out for 186 in 19.5 overs. Rawl Reid was their leading run scorer with 52 (4×6) and Rudolph Gentle made 36 (1×4, 3×6). Garbarran grabbed 4-13. Everest received a trophy.
In an earlier match sponsored by Savage softball team, Stock Feeds XI defeated Speed XI by 16 runs. Jermine Ramroop stroked 65 while Rawl Reid scored 53 not out as Stock Feeds XI posted 204-9 off 20 overs, batting first. Arjune Persaud captured 3 wickets and Patrick Khan 2.
Speed XI showed some fight before they were bowled out for 188 in 18 overs in reply. Khan top scored with 65 while Orlando Charles made 30; Reon Jonathan snared 4-20 and Reid 3-22. Stock Feeds XI collected a trophy.
