After a nearly five month suspension because of rain, the 2013 New Building Society Second Division 40 Over Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board for teams in the Ancient County resumed last Sunday with rescheduled matches.
There were two outstanding performances that were the best in the competitions so far. Bush Lot challengers opening batsman Troy Haley blasted 188 for his team against Bush Lot United New Generation. His knock which included 21 fours and 5 sixes Challengers post a daunting 330 for 4 in their allotted 30 Overs. The New Generation team was then bowled out for 65 in reply to lose by 265 runs.
After No. 70 M.Y.O posted 168 against No. 69 Vikings, the 47 year old offspinner Mahmood Khan took 7 for 11 from 5.1 overs to restrict Vikings to 53 all out in 16.1 Overs.
Former Guyana T/20 batting star, Imran Khan slammed 93 (11 fours and 4 sixes) and Yourdhan Gurdayal hit 82 (11 fours and 3 sixes), the two of them featuring in a 150 run 2nd wicket partnership to steer Chesney to 286 for 8 in their allotted 35 Overs against Albion Travellers who could only reply with 170 with Brian Algu scoring 50.
Other batsmen scoring half centuries were Aubrey Collins of Kildonan and Doodnauth Ramnarine of Kennard’s Memorial.

At Bush Lot, West Coast, Berbice, Bush Lot Challengers beat Bush Lot United New Generation by 265 runs. Bush Lot Challengers 330 for 4 in 30 Overs with Troy Haley 188, Brandon Balkissoon 38, Lakan Saywack 2 for 38.
Bush Lot United New Generation 65 in 19.3 Overs with Fazul Hera 3 for 6, Asgar Mathabeek 2 for 4, Joel Dilchand 2 for 12.
At No. 69, No. 70 M.Y.O beat No. 69 Vikings by 115 runs. No. 70 M.Y.O. – 168 in34.3 Overs with Alim Khan 35, Abdul Ghanie 26.
No. 69 Vikings 53 in 16.1 Overs with Mahmood Khan 7 for 11, Tameshwar Mathura 2 for 9.
At Chesney, Chesney beat Albion Travellers by 116 runs. Chesney 286 for 8 in 35 Overs with Imran Khan 93, Yourdhan Gurdayal 82, Zameer Khan 41, Satesh Heeralall 3 for 36, Bhupendra Matadin 3 for 41.
Albion Travellers 170 for 9 in 35 Overs with Brian Algu 50, Chemendra Goberdhan 37, Reyaz Ramcharran 4 for 23, Ravindra Somwaru 2 for 21, Anesh Deonarine 2 for 22.
At Bush Lot Farm on the Corentyne, Kennard’s Memorial beat Kildonan by 6 wickets. Kildonan 166 in 29.4 Overs with Aubrey Collins 59, Clifford Mc Kenzie 31, Karamchand Ramnarine 4 for 15, Satesh Mangru 2 for 15.
Kennard’s Memorial 168 for 4 in 27.1 Overs with Doodnauth Ramnarine 50 N.O; Kamadevin Permaula 45, Godfrey Mendonca 2 for 18.
At Wironi in the Berbice River, Wironi Conquerors beat fort Nassau by 65 runs. Wironi Conquerors 100 in 20.4 Overs with John Sinclair 37, Stevenson Grimmond 4 for 20, Richard Harris 3 for 31, Phillip Grimmond 2 for 30.
Fort Nassau 35 in 13.3 Overs with John Sinclair 4 for 10, Kurt Sinclair 3 for 15.
At Shieldstown, Shieldstown beat Blairmont Community Centre A by 50 runs. Shieldstown 156 in 35 Overs with Zulfikar Bux 37, Andrew Joynauth 33, Ryan Sutherland 2 for 18.
