Businessman John Pyneandy, has been charged for assaulting a Jerries Snackette Manager.
Pyneandy, of Water and Barrack Streets, Kingston, pleaded not guilty to the allegations of assault when he faced Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The businessman, who was unrepresented at yesterday’s hearing, is accused of jabbing Jerries manager, Laurence Vieira, several times in his chest with a stick.
Details emerging from the matter suggest that the defendant was under the influence of alcohol when he entered Jerries Snackette located on Waterloo Street, South Cummingsburg, and started to spew derogatory remarks, relating to the owner of the business, Jerry Bacchus. When confronted by workers, the businessman reportedly took a flagstick and poked Vieira in the chest.
The matter has been adjourned until September 27.
Pyneandy was released on $10,000 bail.
