A Robb Street businessman is counting his losses after thieves escaped with goods worth millions of dollars over the weekend. This is not the first time the store, Triple ‘D’ Fashion, has been robbed, said owner, Dave Danny.
The startling discovery of empty shelves and goods scattered across the store was made yesterday around 09:00hrs when Danny opened his door for business. The thieves, who gained access through the roof, made off with numerous items including clothing, costume jewellery, and fans.
Several high-end health and beauty products and a skin analyzer which were being stored on the premises were also stolen.
The thieves apparently broke several light bulbs and pipelines of another store on King Street whilst walking through a slim alleyway to access Triple ‘D’ Fashion. The thieves who seem knowledgeable of the layout lifted a section of the zinc roof, broke the ceiling and entered the store.
According to Danny, break and entry of his business has seemingly become an annual event. It is however very costly to restocking. Recouping the losses is out of the question.
The man recalled that after the more recent break-in he was forced to solid cast the wall which they had broken to gain entry.
Other storeowners operating on Robb Street, who converged at the scene, lamented the recent spate of break-ins. About a week ago another storeowner was greeted with missing items after opening up for business. Apparently, the thieves are using the weekends to target the stores.
