Massive changes and improvements are ongoing at the Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC), Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice for that entity’s $7M horserace meet in collaboration with Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service and Nazrudeen Mohammed Jnr of Jumbo Jet at the Club’s racetrack on Sunday 29th September.
With the BLUTC being on the improve and being rated as the most improved entities for the past two years, the principals of the club are bent on making it among the best in the country.
With substantial renovation work and changes done to the venue including the construction of a new grand stand, new rails, new toilet facilities with running water and lights for the first time, more stables and viewing area and an expand parade ring, Jockey’s area and scale house along with the track being re-laid.
The principals of the club are still hard at work and are constructing a reservoir, so that the horses can be refreshed before and after the races. Two standby generators along with portable toilets will also be in place. According to coordinator Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo all preparation will be completed long before race day.
An attractive seven races has been put together by the club with some lucrative prizes on offer totaling over $7M in cash and trophies up for grabs. Several new sponsors have come on board including Anwar (Valdez) Trucking Service, Tony’s Auto Sale, Electronic City with special giveaways and Hot and Spicy.
The organiser will also be catering for the kids and others with Merry Go round and Trampoline and other side attractions and games at the spacious venue.
Entries close tomorrow, Monday 23rd, however already over 60 horses have taken entry for the meet and Turfites cannot wait to be a part of the riveting action expected to unfold.
Over the week a number of new entries have been entered for the meet including Wicked Revenge, Royal Intention, It’s my Time, Flying Object and McGyver as they join up with the likes of Elle’s Vision, Swing Easy, Donut Prince, Fresh Again, Country Armagh, Settle in Seattle, Grande De Roja, Zelick, Africanist, Joyful victory Who is on the Case, Force Entry, Ameera’s Joy, Unsettled, Cat Messiah, Charismatic Boy, Celebrating Love, City Tune, Fresh Again, Prospectors Pride, California Strike, Silent Night, Top of the Line, Marathon man, Got To Go, Silver Jet, Another Jet, Settling Jet, It’s my Day, Nobody wants me, It’s My Turn, Princess Alicia, I Want Revenge, Rosetta, Blame The Jockey, Rosanna, Mary Ann, Royal Empire, Captain Crook and Golden Key, Traditional man, Silent Lizzy, Treacle, Prince Bayaya, Sweet Return, Smarty Light, She So Special, Gold Rush, Miss Karina, De Gump, Savion, Monsoon and Bridal Stone Corner among others.
The Feature race will be for horses classified ‘C’ and with the animals set to cover a distance of one mile for a top first prize of $1.2M and trophy. The horses classified E and lower one mile event will be for a top prize of $600,000 and trophy. An encouraging $500,000 and trophy over six furlongs is available for the winner in the three Year old event for the Guyana and West Indies bred and born horses.
A similar $500,000 and trophy is available for the winner of the event for two year old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses over five furlongs. The race for horses classified G3 and lower will be a six furlongs affair with the animals running for a purse of $400,000 and trophy.
The ‘I’ and lower event is also over six furlongs for a winning purse of $200,000 and trophy.
The J and K class match up will see the winner pocketing $150,000 and trophy over six furlongs. Among other sponsors on board are Banks DIH Limited, Buddy Shivraj, Jumbo Jet, Trophy Stall Bourda Market, Inshan Bacchus Business Enterprise, Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sukhdeo, Mohammed ‘Nanko’ Shariff Business Enterprise, Phagoo General Store, Eron Lall Civil Engineering and Construction, Baijnauth Sawmilling, Darmin Chattergoon, Romel Jagroop construction, Premo Baldeo and Rohan Oudit construction among others.
The individual performers including top jockey, stable and trainer will be presented with trophies compliments of The Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the organisers.
