GSCL Inc. 12/12 bowls off today
Defending Georgetown Softball Cricket League Incorporated (GSCL Inc) 12\12 champions Memorex will be hard hard-pressed to retain their title when the second edition of the tournament bowls off today at the Everest Cricket Club from 10:00hrs.
Fans can expect a keenly contested tournament since teams such as Universal DVD Titans, Trophy Stall,
Regal XI Privnauth Motilall is expected to lead his team bowling attack
Regal XI, Wolf’s Warriors and Speed Boat will compete for the top prize of $600,000 and a trophy; the second placed team will receive $200,000 and a trophy.
The Man-of-the-Series will receive one three-piece living room suite, the best batsman and bowler will each walk away with $5,000 and a trophy and the Man-of-the-Match in the final, $10,000 and a trophy.
Twelve (12) teams were placed into four groups of three and will contest the preliminary rounds of the tournament on a round robin basis, with the two top teams advancing to the quarterfinal which is set for next Saturday, with the semifinal and finals being contested the following day.
Director of Sport within the National Sports Commission (NSC) Neil Kumar is expected to deliver the opening remarks, before the action bowls off with two group matches being played simultaneously.
