Half centuries from Kamesh Yadram and Surendra Hiralall enabled Gandhi Youth Organization (GYO) to beat
Third Class by 121 runs in the Georgetown Cricket Association(GCA)\ New Building Society(NBS) second division 40-over competition Sunday.
Yadram slammed ten fours in a top score of 66 and got support from Hiralall who made 53 (7×4), Richard Hoyte 39, Dereck Koulen 28 and Bhaskar Yadram 27 as host GYO rattled up 249-7 off their allotted overs, batting first. Alvin Castello grabbed 3 wickets for Third Class.
The visitors were bowled out for 128 in 29.5 overs in reply.
Andre O’ Neil was their leading batsman with 31 (3×4, 1×6), while Shivnandan Roopnarine made 22 (4×4) and Trevor Hussein 21(4×4). Hoyte returned to take 3-26 and Yadram claimed 2-39.
