Basking in their rich tradition of producing sterling athletes and also the back to back Digicel Schools Football Championship team, the Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School has recently formalized their Athletic Club by installing a new Executive that will oversee Administrative matters for the next year.
Given the task to lead the Club which has among its members, double Carifta Gold medalist Cassie George, President, Cleveland Thomas.
Moses Pantlitz is Vice President with Ms. Latoya Barker performing duties as Secretary. Ms. Annecia Benjamin was elected Treasurer, Trelicia Nicholson is Assistant Secretary Treasurer while Rollin Tappin will function as the Public Relations Officer.
The Committee Members are Sheldene Lacon, Jennifer Kirton, Sonia McKenzie, Aretha Hackett, Sherma February and Dane Peters.
Meanwhile, three athletes of the club have been shortlisted by the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) for the Inter Guiana Games trials slated for the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary on September 8, next.
Those named are Cassie George, Cassie Kirton and Niomi Alsopp. Two athletes will represent the club at the upcoming AAG/ Neal & Massey 10k Road Race they are Cassie Kirton and Kevin Nicholas.
The Club said it is extending thanks to all its supporters and those who assisted during the recently concluded Boyce & Jeffords Classic where they placed 3rd.
