The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) yesterday presented one Tennis Table and a set of balls and rockets to the Masjid An-Najm of Albouystown.
GTTA President Godfrey Monroe said that the association is planning to hold a structured coaching programme for the youths in the community. He stated that this venture is part of the GTTA’s schools and community development project and they are grateful to the Masjid for accommodating them.
Naeem Muhammad, the Imam/Director of the Masjid thanked the association and said their input will enhance the sport in Albouystown which has produced national players Paul David and Salim Alim.
Muhammad informed that it will give the youths an opportunity move up to a higher level and is part of the Masjid’s social objective to promote sports and education in the area.
